New Release Wines!

It’s time for some wine!  After selling out of our first vintage (2009 Pinot Noir) extremely quickly, to which we can’t thank each and every one of you enough, we are thrilled to announce the release of TWO wines – both from the Willamette Valley.  Our first white wine, the 2011 Pinot Blanc, is now ready for you to taste and try, and our 2010 Pinot Noir, has just been labeled and is jumping out of the bottle!

The Pinot Blanc is a bright, flavorful white – indicative of the vintage, with great balanced acids and flavors of lemon and Granny Smith apple, along with litchi and Asian pear.  All of the fruit comes from the Yamhill Carlton and Chehalem Mountains AVA’s and we believe that this varietal is a natural pairing for its sibling, Pinot Noir, and flavor-wise is a great complement.   The Pinot Blanc is a great wine to pair with any type of cuisine as it is extremely versatile, especially Asian flavors as it cuts through the spice or just to sip while on your patio in the backyard.  This wine is available to you at $16.00 a bottle, $192.00 a case, plus shipping.

Our Pinot Noir is an extremely balanced wine from the 2010 harvest, with lower sugars and structured acid.  The nose has a slight smokiness to it with red and dark fruits coming through the palate, finishing with some chocolate and plum.  Serve with oysters, roast chicken and halibut, or just have a glass with friends.  The Pinot Noir is $25.00 a bottle, $300.00 a case plus shipping.

The wines are now available for you to purchase and can be shipped starting on Tuesday, April 8th.  Feel free to email, call or contact me directly so I can get your order together for you!

As always, thank you for your support and friendship during our journey of Labor Wines.  Also, we’d love to hear from you – please share your experiences, pictures and adventures with us on Facebook or via Twitter.  As well, you can always email me directly, Corey@LaborWines.com or call on cell, 702.466.0987.

New wines!

Hello friends! I hope that everyone is shaking off the Winter blues and that you can feel Spring coming right around the corner.  Here at Labor Wines we are excited to tell you about our newest releases and yet another first!

This week our 2011 Pinot Blanc is going into the bottle!  This is going to be the first white wine from Labor and we’re only producing 112 cases.  We wanted to keep it small for the first vintage and really focus upon the quality for each of you to enjoy.  For those of you unfamiliar with Pinot Blanc, it is an Alsatian grape varietal that, in Oregon, is best known as a balanced wine with good acid, straight forward as a pairing for the table or by the glass.  The vineyards we sourced from are all located in the Willamette Valley, coming from the Yamhill Carlton District and Chehalem Mountains AVA’s.  We are hoping to release the wine at the beginning of April and it is going to go quick, so make sure you reserve your case today!

Additionally, the 2nd vintage of our Pinot Noir, the 2010, is being labeled at the beginning of April and will be ready mid-April/beginning of May for you to enjoy.  This wine comes from a smaller harvest with lower yields than 2009, showing more red fruit qualities with higher acids and lower sugars.  While ready to drink right away, this is a vintage that will last for years to come and will welcome time in the cellar, if you’d like.  Everyone I have spoken with in Oregon is excited for this vintage, since at the beginning the year started out extremely cool and then gave way to a gorgeous harvest.  We are very happy to be able to share our 2010 with you – for those who haven’t tasted Labor Wines just yet, get ready!

Don’t forget, when you are enjoying a bottle of our wine, make sure to take a picture and share it with us on Facebook or via Twitter.  As well, you can always email me directly, Corey@LaborWines.com or call on cell, 702.466.0987.

Some Vegas love…

Here at Labor Wines, we were excited to see VegasChatter.com put up a piece on us and our affiliation with Las Vegas.  Check out the story here to learn more and if you haven’t seen Vegas Chatter before, make sure to stay tuned to the website for updates from Sin City or follow them on Twitter here.

Also, to give you all a little update – we are progressing very soon into our next vintage of Pinot Noir!  The last few cases of our 2009 are in the warehouse and almost gone.  The 2010 is going to be ready for your enjoyment and release by May of this year, very exciting for us to be releasing our second vintage.  And, before that, something even more exciting is that we are going to be launching a second wine!  Our 2011 Pinot Blanc will be coming in March – another limited production wine with only 112 cases made.  I think you will all enjoy the clean, crisp style of this wine in preparation for Spring.

If you’re curious to learn about where Labor is going to be served around the country or interested in purchasing our wines directly feel free to contact me via email, Corey@LaborWines.com or on my cell, 702.466.0987, plus you can always reach us via TwitterFacebook.

Latest Press

So, while I was most recently up in Oregon working on the 2011 Harvest (more coming on that and an update this week), Labor Wines had a nice piece of press, courtesy of our friends at Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in Las Vegas.  The brothers Bromberg, Bruce & Eric, were featured in a piece in Seven Magazine by Max Jacobson, their food writer talking about the restaurant and seasonal changes to the Japanese menu – check out the article here for the story.  Bruce & Eric personal chose Labor Wines 2009 Pinot Noir as a perfect pairing noting, ‘This pinot is earthy but complex, and has a slightly coarse edge that complements the dishes beautifully.’

In Las Vegas, you can currently find the 2009 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir served at Blue Ribbon, By the Glass.   Additionally, if you’re curious to learn about where Labor is going to be served around the country or interested in purchasing our wines directly feel free to contact me via email, Corey@LaborWines.com or on my cell, 702.466.0987, plus you can always reach us via TwitterFacebook.

James Beard Award-winning Chef, Andy Ricker’s Portland Favorites

Came across a great restaurant suggestion list for Portland, Oregon by Andy Ricker – 2011 James Beard Best Chef Winner earlier today via the James Beard Foundation, find it here.  If you’re fortunate to live in PDX or just taking a trip to the Pacific Northwest, do your best to check out some of these spots.  Additionally, make sure you visit one of Chef Ricker’s restaurants, check out his original Pok Pok and then discover the rest!

I can’t wait to head back to Portland and visit some of the restaurants on his list and enjoy the most amazing wings I ever had, which were at Chef Ricker’s Whiskey Soda Lounge – basically the ‘waiting room’ for Pok Pok.

The interview comes on at 26:57 of the radio program, click here to listen.  Thanks again to Laura for having me on the program, I was blown away by the time she gave me and her wonderful hospitality.

Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill – Las Vegas

I am very happy to announce that the first restaurant in Las Vegas to purchase Labor Wines is Blue Ribbon Sushi & Grill at The Cosmopolitan!  They started carrying the wine yesterday and now you will be able to sip on a glass or enjoy a bottle of our 2009 Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley.

Blue Ribbon is one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas, not only courtesy of their impeccable food quality and varied selection, but from the people there who provide amazing service in a relaxing environment.  Every time I’m there, I feel like I’m back in New York City (this being a good thing), which also makes me feel like I’m at home.

When you enjoy a taste of our 2009 Pinot Noir, expect flavors of Black Cherry with slight spice notes from the 1st and 2nd year barrels.  Cocoa powder is coming through on the finish currently and a balanced mouth feel.

If you’re curious to learn about where else Labor is going to be served in Las Vegas or interested in purchasing our wines directly feel free to contact me via email, Corey@LaborWines.com or on my cell, 702.466.0987, plus you can always reach us via TwitterFacebook.
